1 JOHN 1:1–4; JOHN 21:24–25
As a child, I loved visiting the school library and realised there were so many books. Today, new books fill more shelves.
Since his five New Testament volumes—the Gospel of John, John 1–3, and Revelation—were written on parchment scrolls, the apostle John would probably be surprised by the number of books available today.
John wrote to provide Christians with an accurate account of Jesus’s life and ministry, but his writings only contained a small fraction of Jesus’s teachings. John believed that if everything Jesus did were recorded, the world could not contain it.
John’s claim remains relevant today, as the world’s libraries cannot contain every story of Jesus’ love and grace. We can celebrate our personal stories and rejoice that we will be proclaiming them forever!
🙏 May your life continue to tell the story of Jesus Christ. Amen.
