1 KINGS 5:1–6
A craftsman once chose the finest wood for a masterpiece, refusing to use inferior materials simply because they were cheaper. In the same way, what we offer God should reflect His worth. Our time, gifts, resources and service deserve our wholehearted devotion.
1 Kings 5:1–6 shows Solomon preparing to build the temple for God. After God gave him peace, Solomon sought the finest cedar from Lebanon and worked with skilled craftsmen. His purpose was clear: to build a house for the Lord’s name.
We should examine what we bring before God. Do we give Him our best, or merely what remains? Let our worship, work, generosity and obedience demonstrate genuine reverence for Him.
