LUKE 16:191919–31
Imagine a man sprinting towards a railway platform, his heart pounding, sweat running down his face. He hears the final whistle and sees the train beginning to move. He stretches out his hand, desperately pleading for the doors to open, but they close before him. The train disappears, leaving him standing helplessly on the platform. Some opportunities never return.
In Luke 16:19–31, Jesus tells of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man enjoyed luxury while Lazarus suffered at his gate. After death, the rich man cried for mercy, but it was too late; the great divide could not be crossed.
Do not wait until death to seek God. Repent, pray and obey Him now. The opportunity you have today may not be available tomorrow.
