2 THESSALONIANS 3:16–18
Grace is a truly unique woman. When I think of her, just one thing comes to mind: peace. In the six months I have known her, despite her husband’s diagnosis of a rare disease and subsequent hospitalisation, her calm and serene demeanour has hardly altered.
Grace responded, “It is not a secret; it is a person,” when I asked her what secret made her peaceful.
“Jesus is within me. I cannot think of another word to describe how calm I feel in the middle of this storm,” she said.
Our relationship with Jesus Christ is the key to peace. Our peace is in him. Peace becomes a reality when Jesus is our Saviour and Lord and we get closer to Him. There may be danger, illness, or financial hardship, but peace gives us the assurance that God has our lives in His hands (Daniel 5:23) and that all will work out for the best.
Have we ever felt this calm that transcends reason and comprehension? Are we internally confident that God is in charge?
