JOHN 15:1-8
When they were both children, my friend’s brother promised his sister that if she would just “believe,” an umbrella would have enough lift to keep her up. She thus “by faith” jumped off the roof of a barn, knocked herself unconscious, and suffered a minor fracture.
God promises to fulfil His promises, but it is crucial to rely on God’s actual word to ensure assurance. Wishful thinking is useless.
This is an example: Jesus has promised that you can ask for anything you want, and He will grant it. It is to the honour of His Father that you produce a lot of fruit (John 15:7–8). These Scriptures guarantee that God will grant our requests in line with personal holiness and effectiveness, not that He will grant every prayer we shall ever say.
Do not give up. Keep asking God. In His time and at His pace, it will be done for you. God does not make promises He does not keep. Neither does He answer prayers that will not bring Him glory.
🙏 Dear Lord, thank you for your many promises to us in your Word. Help your children to ask according to your will.
