MATTHEW 13:1–9, 23
A woman sent an email expressing her fondness for her teacher, my mom, who taught her class the 23rd Psalm in 1958. This was the only contact she had with the Bible until 1997, when she became a Christian.
Jesus shared a parable about a farmer who sowed seeds on different types of ground, including hard, rocky, and good soil. The seed falling on good soil signifies someone who understands the word and produces a crop yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.
My mother taught in public schools for twenty years, teaching kindness and God’s love. Her former student reminisced about her gentle nature, highlighting the impact of Psalm 23, which she taught them, on her Christian walk.
A small amount of God’s love sown today could yield a huge harvest.
🙏Lord, today, let our lives sow good seeds in those around us.
