ISAIAH 25:1-9
Until the 1940s, bacterial infections often led to fatalities. Since then, penicillin has eradicated dangerous bacteria, saving countless lives. In 1945, the men who developed it for broad usage were awarded the Nobel Prize.
Long before penicillin was discovered, white blood cells killed bacteria silently, saving lives. They are quiet killers. These diligent workers are how God shields us from illness. Nobody is aware of the number of invasions they have prevented or the number of lives they have saved. They do not get much credit for all the good they do.
The Lord receives the same treatment. God is frequently held accountable for errors, but He is rarely given praise for all that goes well. Every day, people get up, dress, go to work or school, and then safely return home to their families. Nobody is aware of how many times God has spared us from harm. But when a tragedy strikes, we wonder, “Where was God?”
Our list of praises will be considerably greater than our list of requests when we consider all the beautiful things that God silently accomplishes on our behalf every day (Isaiah 25:1).
🙏🏻 Lord, keep giving us reasons to praise You.
