ACTS 9:1–19; EPHESIANS 3:7
A woman fell asleep on the couch after her husband went to bed. An intruder entered the house through a forgotten sliding door, entered the husband’s bedroom, and picked up a television set. The man woke up, saw a figure, and whispered, “Honey, come to bed.” The burglar panicked, grabbed a stack of money from the dresser, and ran out.
The thief was surprised when he found a stack of Christian pamphlets with a $20 bill on one side and an explanation of God’s love and forgiveness on the other. Instead of cash, the intruder received a story of God’s love for him.
Saul, later known as Paul, was surprised by Jesus’ appearance on the road to Damascus. It was God’s grace, which he called a gift, and he became a servant of the gospel through God’s power (Ephesians 3:7).
Have you been thrilled by God’s grace?
