PSALM 50:8–15; LUKE 17:16-18
A medical doctor suggested to a terminally ill patient that he should start each day by giving thanks. Gratitude opens hearts to find encouragement in God’s goodness. At times it brings even the physical healing.
Psalm 50 is a biblical text emphasising the importance of thanksgiving to God.
Jesus was not pleased when He witnessed the lack of gratitude from the nine lepers who did not return to give thanks (Luke 17:17-18).
Does giving thanks imply that everything will be fine, both physically and spiritually? Or perhaps not till after this life? We are uncertain. However, we should take pleasure in expressing our gratitude to God for His love and for His persona: Redeemer, Friend and Healer. Friends are delighted to hear these lovely words: “Thank you.”
🙏 May the Lord give you every reason to be thankful today and always, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
