FAIR PLAY

TITUS 2:7–8, 11–14

When Singaporean runner Ashley Liew led a marathon at the Southeast Asian Games, he noticed the lead runners had taken a wrong turn. Instead of benefiting from their mistake, he chose to slow down and let them catch up, valuing genuine victory.

In the end, Ashley lost the race and a medal but gained his countrymen’s admiration and won an international fair play award, reflecting his Christian faith, prompting questions about his motivations.

Ashley’s act challenges us to share our faith through our actions. Little acts of thoughtfulness, kindness, or forgiveness can glorify God.

Our positive actions toward others can show the world that we are able to live differently because of the Holy Spirit’s work in us. He will give us the grace to reject ungodliness and wrong passions and to live upright lives that point people to God (Titus 2:7–8, 11–12).

🙏 Lord Jesus, may Your servants live in a way that others will want to know You.
