NEHEMIAH 3:1–12; ECCLESIASTES 4:9
In the past, a city with fallen walls showed a defeated people, left vulnerable and humiliated. The Jews constructed Jerusalem’s walls for this reason. In what way? The phrase “by working side by side” perfectly captures Nehemiah 3.
Nehemiah chapter 3 highlights the collaborative efforts of various individuals in the reconstruction process, including priests, perfume-makers, goldsmiths, etc. This collaborative approach highlights the importance of teamwork in the reconstruction process.
There are two noteworthy aspects in this chapter. First, they all collaborated to achieve a single objective. Secondly, their participation in the work is what is applauded, not the extent of their contributions.
We witness a fractured society and ruined families today. Jesus, on the other hand, came to change people’s lives in order to establish the kingdom. By demonstrating to others that Jesus is the source of hope and new life, we may aid in the reconstruction of our communities. Each of us has a task to complete. To build a loving community where others can find Jesus, let us collaborate and each do our small part.
🙏 Dear Lord, help your servants to work with others, demonstrating love and bringing souls to Jesus.
