ISAIAH 50:4–10
C. S. Lewis, as a 30-year-old man, received a letter from a woman who had cared for his mother over two decades ago, offering her sympathy for his father’s death and asking if he remembered her. “My dear Nurse Davison,” Lewis replied. “Remember you? I should think I do.”
Lewis appreciated her comforting presence at his home during a difficult time, expressing gratitude for her sympathy and reminiscing about his childhood.
During life’s challenges, receiving encouraging words from others can boost our spirits and direct us towards the Lord. The Old Testament prophet Isaiah emphasised the importance of knowing the Lord’s words, which offer hope and light in the dark.
🙏 Help us, Heavenly Father, to hear Your message of hope today, and assist us in pointing people to You with words of encouragement and hope.
