MARK 4:35-41
There was a storm brewing, not just outside but also inside a neighbour’s house. Family members were trying to balance their obligations at home, at work, and when going to and from the hospital while their father was in the hospital. They were so worn out that their patience was weakening and things were tense at home.
The winds of misfortune, sorrow, or worry can blow us around in life, making it seem like a storm. What are our options? Jesus’ followers still knew where to go when they were caught in a strong windstorm and questioned whether He cared. He stopped the raging storm to demonstrate His power (Mark 4:38-39).
But sometimes He does not calm the storm right away. And we might think He does not care, just like the disciples did. We can cling to faith in God and His attributes to allay our concerns. He is our refuge (Psalm 91:1). He can enable us to interact with others in a gracious manner. Our all-knowing, all-wise, and all-loving God gives us comfort. He is with us during the storm and holds us close as it passes.
