WHO DO YOU SAY HE IS?

MATTHEW 16:13–20

Albert Einstein, as a child, said he received instruction both in the Bible and in the Talmud. He believed that the presence of Jesus in the Gospels was palpable, and no myth was filled with such life.

The New Testament Scriptures reveal Jesus’s countrymen’s perception of Him as unique. Some believed He was John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, or a prophet. Jesus, however, was not seeking compliments but seeking understanding and faith. He asked His followers, “Whom say ye that I am?” (16:15), to understand their perceptions and beliefs about Him.

Peter’s declaration accurately affirmed Jesus’ identity as the Messiah and Son of the Living God.

Jesus desires to be known, and His rescuing love prompts each of us to answer the question, “Who do you say Jesus is?”

🙏We long to know You more, Lord Jesus. Teach us more about Your wonderful character so that we may fall more deeply in love with You and give You our entire devotion.
