WHAT WAS SAID BY SIMON

LUKE 5:1–11

Refuge Rabindranath, a youth worker in Sri Lanka, spends his time playing, listening, counselling, and teaching young people late into the night. Despite his enjoyment, he is disheartened when promising students leave the faith.

Simon, tired and discouraged after working hard all night, decided to let down his nets after Jesus instructed him to go into deep water and catch fish. He complied, as he felt he had been instructed (Luke 5:4-5).

Simon, a seasoned fisherman, was rewarded for trusting Jesus.

We might be receiving summons from God to let down our nets again. As Simon did, may we respond to the Lord with, “Because You say so, I will.”

🙏Father, we are privileged to address You as “Lord.” Help us in learning more about what it means to walk closely with You, to obey and trust You.
