PSALM 119:9–16
Maybe you have seen a TV programme when a person answers the door and discovers someone who gives them a huge cheque or cash. Subsequently, the astonished recipient starts yelling, twirling, leaping, and embracing everyone within reach. “I won! I am rich! It is unbelievable!” Hitting it big produces a powerful emotional reaction.
In Psalm 119, the longest chapter of the Bible, the psalmist expresses gratitude for following God’s statutes, comparing it to great riches.
Gratitude is a powerful tool, as it is both an attitude and a choice. As we express gratitude for God’s gifts that nourish our souls, we ask Him to open our eyes to the wisdom, knowledge, and peace He has given us in His Word, making it an exhilarating experience.
We do undoubtedly strike it rich as our love for Jesus and the Bible (God’s Word) deepens every day!
🙏 Open our eyes that we may see wonderful things in Your word.
