With so many immediate means of communication available today, our lack of patience with receiving a response from others can be amusing at times. Someone I know sent his wife a text message and then called her few minutes later because he could not really wait for her to respond!
Sometimes we may feel as though God has let us down when He does not respond to our prayers right away.
Waiting for the Lord, on the other hand, can change us into a faith-filled people. King David waited for years to be proclaimed king while fleeing Saul’s fury. He knew what it was like to wait.
When we are troubled with God’s seeming delay in answering our prayer, it is important to remember that He wants to grow our faith and perseverance (James 1:2-4).
God tries our patience in order to enlarge our soul.
🙏🏼 Lord, help us to wait as long as it takes.
