VISITING THE DENTIST

MATTHEW 26:36–39

A father’s heart was tested when he had to remove a stubborn tooth from his ten-year-old son. Despite his son’s pleas for an alternative, the father remained present, holding his hand as the dentist removed the tooth. The father’s heart was broken, but his presence helped the son cope with the pain.

In that instant, he thought of Jesus pleading with His Father for an alternative in the garden of Gethsemane. The Father must have been devastated to witness His darling Son in such pain! But there was nothing else He could do to save His people.

Like the son who went to the dentist, we all experience terrible but inevitable moments in life. However, because of what Jesus accomplished for us, our loving heavenly Father is always with us, even when we are at our lowest (Matthew 28:20).

🙏 May the Lord be with you. Amen.
