LUKE 9:23, 57–62
Some shortcuts are beneficial, but others can harm our spirits and lives. We desire romance without the challenges, greatness without the risks, and pleasing God without inconvenience.
Jesus talked of the importance of surrendering our lives to Him, warning that no one can serve in the kingdom of God if they look back (Luke 9:62). Following Christ requires radical changes in our loyalties.
Putting your confidence in Jesus starts the process of following Him, and it will be worthwhile because He assures us that those who give their everything for Him and the gospel will receive a hundredfold more in this life as well as the next.
Always remember that most things worth doing are difficult.
