
1 PETER 3:8–12
Some companies now offer “unsend” features that allow users to stop an email or message from leaving their computer or phone, preventing it from being sent to the wrong person or containing harmful words, emphasising the importance of guarding our words.
Peter’s letter to Jesus’ followers advises against repaying evil and cursing others but instead blessing them. He encourages them to avoid deceitful speech, turn from evil, and pursue peace (1 Peter 3:9–11).
David, a psalmist, wrote in Psalm 141:3, “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” That is a fantastic prayer to say at the start of each day and in any circumstance where we feel the need to respond verbally.
🙏 Lord, watch over what we say today so that it does not hurt anyone else.
