PSALM 103:13–22
Driving to the tennis courts was one of his first activities last time he was in that city, expecting to see people play and briefly recollect the old times. But there was no sign of the ancient courts that he remembered so well. They were replaced by an empty field, populated only by the occasional weed that swayed silently in the wind.
He still remembers that afternoon as a sobering reminder of how short life is. There was no longer a site where he used some of his greatest youthful strength! An elderly King David once said that the life of mortals is like grass; they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. This realisation came to him after he reflected on that event. The Lord’s love, however, is with those who fear him forever (Psalm 103:15–17).
God’s love endures despite the passing of time and changes in the world. Those who turn to Him may always rely on Him to care for them.
🙏 Faithful Father, thank You for Your love that never changes! Watch over Your servant today and always. Amen.
