2 KINGS 19:9–19
As a teenager, his mother taught him the importance of writing to gain perspective on challenges and high-stakes decisions. By writing out facts and possible actions, he was able to step back and view problems objectively, overcoming his emotions.
Just as recording thoughts on paper provides fresh perspective, while we pray, we can better understand God’s perspective and are reminded of His power when we pour out our hearts to Him. King Hezekiah, after receiving a letter from the Assyrians, prayerfully called on God to deliver Jerusalem and make the world recognise Him as God.
Hezekiah’s example encourages us to seek guidance from God when facing anxiety or fear, trusting Him to calm our hearts and guide us through difficult situations.
🙏Thank You, Lord, for being our strongest provider of support during difficult times.
