LUKE 13:1–9
Last year, John almost removed the rose bush in his backyard due to its insufficient flower production and creeping branches.
Life got busy, and his gardening plan was delayed. However, a few months later, the rose bush burst into bloom, bursting with fragrant flowers that filled his yard and adorned the ground.
The revival of the rose bush reminded him of Jesus’s parable of the fig tree in Luke 13:6–9, where a gardener asks his boss to give a tree a fourth year to produce. The parable suggests that God was patient with people, allowing them to turn to Him, be forgiven, and bloom.
God’s patience is good news for all, whether we are on the journey towards faith or praying for unbelieving family and friends.
🙏Thank you, Lord, for being patient with us. Help us to flourish quickly.
