THE WITHERED PLANT

ROMANS 6:11–14

When Ella left her plant in a dark cupboard for weeks, it withered—lifeless and limp. It needed light to survive. Like that plant, sin drains us when we hide in the shadows of our hearts.

Paul encourages us to count ourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus and reminds us that sin should no longer be our master (Romans 6:11, 14). In Christ, we are no longer ruled by sin—we live under grace. When we embrace this truth and thank God for our own path, envy fades and joy returns. God’s light restores what denial or pretence may destroy.

🙏 May the Lord shine His light on your heart—free you from any form of sin and fill you with gratitude.
