THE TRUE HOME OF THE HEART

ECCLESIASTES 3:10–11

“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world,” wrote C. S. Lewis in his book Mere Christianity. Life would have no meaning or purpose without God.

Through testing the limits of nature, such as climbing mountains, skiing downhill, and exploring dangerous rivers, humans seek pleasure and adventure. This quest is motivated by a natural impulse to find God in addition to a yearning for adventure.

The real home of our hearts is God. Church Father Augustine stated, “You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”

What is the heart, then? A deep hole within us that only God can fill.

🙏Help us, Lord, to recognise our deep longing for You.
