1 PETER 1:1-9
Trinity Sunday is observed by several christian denominations. Why take into account such a difficult doctrine as the Trinity when we have so many practical, everyday issues to deal with? Well, we can’t fully comprehend the truth of our salvation unless we have a basic understanding of the Trinity.
The roles of the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son in redeeming us is mentioned in the first verses of Peter’s highly practical first letter (1 Peter 1:2). Our redemption began with the Father’s loving design, was made possible by Jesus’ atoning death on the cross, and is carried out by the Holy Spirit’s transforming work in us. The more clearly we understand and value each Person of the Godhead’s unique role in our salvation, the more intimate our daily walk with Him will become.
We may not completely comprehend His nature – that He is three-in-one, eternally existing as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit in three equal but separate Persons. But, because of the wonder of His love and forgiveness, which emanates from His triune nature, He wants us to glorify Him.
That is why the Trinity is so important.
The Trinity confounds our minds, but comforts our hearts.
🙏🏼 Praise Father , Son and Holy Ghost.
