THE SQUEAKY WHEEL

LUKE 18:1-8

The saying, “The squeaky wheel gets the oil,” is popular. I used to ride far on my bicycle as a teenager, and the squeaky sounds of the wheels alerted me to the necessity of lubricating them.

The widow in Luke 18 kept asking the judge for justice against her enemy, sounding like a “squeaky wheel,” until she obtained the outcome she sought.

God is undoubtedly not an unfair judge who requires harassment before responding to us. He is our devoted Father, who loves us and attends to our cries. Regular, steadfast prayer brings us nearer to God. Although it may seem like we are a noisy wheel, the Lord appreciates our prayers and exhorts us to come to Him in our distress. He is aware of our requests and will support us in ways we would not anticipate.

🙏🏻Thank You Lord Jesus, for hearing when we pray.
