LUKE 1:1–4
His childhood story involved a snake trapped under the front wheel of an old iron bicycle. This would not have been told if not for a long-lost letter that had been written explaining the situation. Actually, his brother had run to tell his mother that he had parked the bicycle on the snake. Her firsthand narrative, composed shortly after the incident took place, exposed the truth.
Luke, a historian, emphasised the importance of accurate records in his gospel. He explained that Jesus’ story was handed down by eyewitnesses and aimed to provide a clear account for Theophilus. In his introduction to the book of Acts, Luke mentions Jesus’s presentation and convincing proofs of His being alive after resurrection (Acts 1:3).
We do not put our faith in rumours or wishful thinking. Its foundation is found in the well-researched life of Jesus, who came to offer us reconciliation with God. His story remains unaltered.
