THE REMINDERS FROM GOD

MARK 8:11–21

A man referred to Jesus as “the Master Reminder,” a term that reflects our tendency to doubt and forget. Despite Jesus’s numerous earthly miracles, His first disciples feared they might be left in need, failing to grasp the deeper meaning the Lord intended for them to remember.

During a journey across the Sea of Galilee, Jesus’ disciples realised they had forgotten to bring bread and were talking about it. He reminded them that when He fed five thousand people with five loaves, they collected twelve basketfuls of leftover pieces. When He fed four thousand with seven loaves, they had seven baskets with leftovers. Jesus then asked if they still did not understand.

The Lord’s miraculous provision of physical needs reveals His role as the Bread of Life.

We are reminded of our Lord’s immense love and provision for us each time we partake in the Lord’s Supper by eating the bread and drinking the cup.

🙏Lord Jesus, help us to always remember Your love and provision.
