MATTHEW 21:23–27
Like a pupil challenged by a headteacher, we are sometimes asked questions meant to trap, not to learn. Such moments reveal motives more than answers.
The religious leaders questioned Jesus’ authority (Matthew 21:23–27). Rather than argue, Jesus asked them about John’s baptism. Their refusal to answer exposed their fear and insincerity, so Jesus declined to satisfy their demand.
People still question our faith aggressively or defensively. Jesus teaches us wisdom: not every question deserves a direct answer, but every sincere seeker deserves truth. God welcomes honest hearts and patiently exposes false motives, drawing the humble closer to Himself.
🙏 May the Lord give you wisdom to answer truthfully and graciously. Amen.
