JAMES 4:1-10
According to a World War I television documentary, it would take seven days to march all of Britain’s wartime casualties past the Cenotaph (war monument) in London. This surprised me. Wars always have a high price tag. There is no way to put a value on the number of lives that are changed or lost as a result of them, even though they do cost money.
The price is also high when Christians engage in conflict with one another. We end up arguing with our friends, family, and churches when we are preoccupied with our own needs and desires. Our friendships and relationships suffer, which comes at a significant cost. It is not, however, the only expense.
We quickly lose sight of the fact that the world is watching when we quarrel with another. The way we live, behave, and speak could be influencing how the non-Christians we know perceive God. What will our conflict and disagreement with them reveal to them?
We must put an end to conflict and promote peace if we wish to demonstrate Jesus to those we know.
🙏 Lord, make every war between your people cease.
