THE PREPARED VESSEL

2 TIMOTHY 2:19-26

One morning, my son knocked on my bedroom door and inquired what I was doing. “I am preparing a report,” I replied. “It seems like I am always preparing for something,” I added, thinking of how much time I spend in my room.

I am thankful for the opportunities God has provided for me to serve others. However, there is some stress when you are constantly preparing something for someone. It is really difficult to strike a balance between priorities when you are constantly thinking about preparing a lesson, a message, or a report.

This idea of ongoing preparedness sparked my curiosity, so I looked into the Bible to see if it addresses the topic. I discovered that we are obligated to be prepared at all times. A heart that is committed to God must be prepared to serve Him. We must be prepared to conduct good deeds and defend biblical truth. Even our giving necessitates preparation (2 Cor. 9:5).

That is just the beginning. It needs mental, spiritual, and physical preparation to live a life that pleases the Lord. But we do not have to be anxious because He will release His power to help us. As we prepare to serve, honour, and tell others about God, let us ask for His support.

And making the most use of today is the best preparation for tomorrow.

🙏🏼 Saviour, like a shepherd lead us and help us to be prepared.
