1 PETER 5:8-9
When I was a child, I once saw a hen eating in the garden. Suddenly, a hawk cut through the air with lightning speed and precision. With the claws outstretched, the hawk reached for the prey, but the hen saw danger approaching and flew safely to a nearby tree, a few inches from the hawk.
Like the hen that saw her predator and ran away, as Christians we must be vigilant to avoid our enemy. The devil goes around like a roaring lion in search of someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). He does this by convincing us to follow his ways, playing with the truth, and trying to deceive us.
Beware of your spiritual predator today. What lies is he whispering? How is he tempting you? Resist him and he will flee (James 4: 7).
🙏 Lord, help us recognise the enemy and his tricks, and to resist him.
