1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-34
Christian traditions are the beliefs that were transmitted to the faithful practically, orally or in writing by the apostles who had received them.
On the other hand, actions or pattern of conduct that reflects a family’s values, interests, or beliefs are considered to be family traditions. They are passed down to upcoming generations once they are established.
When I was a child, I had no idea how valuable some family traditions would be to me decades later.
Our tradition’s meaning might be lost with time and repetition. Some, though, are significant reminders of fundamental spiritual truths.
Although early Christians abused the tradition of the Lord’s Supper, the apostle Paul did not order them to stop engaging in it.
Perhaps we should restore the meaning behind some traditions rather than abandon them.
Any tradition can lose meaning, but that does not make the tradition meaningless.
🙏Lord, when we observe the church’s traditions, especially the Lord’s Supper, help us avoid the trap of letting our observance become routine.
