My attempts at fixing things at home often result in hiring someone to fix my mistakes. Recently, I successfully repaired a home appliance by watching a step-by-step YouTube video.
Paul was a strong role model for his young protégé Timothy, who accompanied him and saw his work. From prison in Rome, Paul wrote about his teachings, lifestyle, faith, and challenges. He encouraged Timothy to stay true to what he had learnt and to remember those who taught him, including his knowledge of the Holy Scriptures.
Paul’s life showed the need to base our lives on God’s Word. He told Timothy that the Bible is a powerful source for teaching others about following Christ.
We thank the Lord for those who helped us grow in faith and are challenged to follow their example in teaching others.
That is the power of demonstration.
🙏Father, as your servants grow in their understanding of Your Word, equip them to be beacons of Your truth to those around them, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
