MATTHEW 12:1-23
A gardener does not yell at a seedling for failing to bloom overnight; he simply ensures it has light and water. Our faith often feels like a series of harsh demands, yet God is more interested in our growth than our perfection.
Jesus encountered religious leaders who prioritised rigid Sabbath rules over compassion (Matthew 12:1-23). He rebuked them, quoting Scripture to show that God desires mercy, not ritual sacrifice. He healed the broken even when it “broke” the rules, proving that people matter more than protocols.
In your life today, stop measuring your worth by how many chapters you have read or how “perfectly” you have lived. Present-day breakthroughs happen when we stop trying to impress God with our works and start resting in His grace.
🙏 May you rest in the love of God and not your own efforts today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
