JOHN 4:7-14
It is said that one cannot miss Kitch-iti-Kipi or the “Big Spring” if they want to take a beautiful excursion of Michigan. This must-see location, named “Mirror of Heaven” by the ancient Chippewas, reflects its surroundings year-round on crystal-clear waters.
More than 10,000 gallons of vivid, aqua-coloured water erupt from cracks in the rocks 40 feet below each minute. The water is kept at a constant 45 degrees Fahrenheit all year, never freezing during Michigan’s harsh winters. Ancient tree trunks, plump fish, lime-encrusted limbs, and sand clouds can all be found in the water’s depths.
When Jesus met a woman at Jacob’s well, He told her about some other source of water that would never fail to satisfy her. He did not mention a fountain, spring, river, or lake. He said that anyone who drank the water would never thirst again. The water will also become a fountain of water within him, rising up into eternal life.
The refreshment we have been given in Christ is far greater than any natural spring. We can be content since only Jesus, the Living Water, can quench our thirst. Praise God, because Jesus is the never-ending spring.
Jesus, the Living Water, is the only true thirst quencher.
🙏🏼 Father, show me how to discover the water that can quench my heart’s thirst and pull me closer to You through Jesus Christ.
