MATTHEW 6:24–34
During his early career, he was offered a position with a significant pay increase by another company, which could have financially benefited his family.
He called his father, then in his seventies, and explained the situation. Despite his ageing mind, he was concise in explaining the situation, stating that he should not even consider the money but rather job satisfaction.
In an instant, his mind was made up. His only motivation for quitting his dream job would have been money! Many thanks to his father.
In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus emphasises the importance of prayer for daily bread and warns against storing earthly treasures. He emphasises the deep care God has for His creation, pointing to birds and flowers as evidence. Jesus encourages seeking first His kingdom and righteousness.
Money is important, but it should not dictate our decision-making process. Tough times and big decisions offer opportunities to deepen our faith as our heavenly Father cares for us.
🙏Lord Jesus, help us not to focus on accumulating wealth but on achieving your will in our lives. Give us enough to live for and serve you.
