PSALM 116:1–9; JAMES 1:17
Fred, who had been unable to leave his home except for doctor’s appointments, was thrilled to hear his church’s live broadcast from his computer, a gift his son gave him, as he had been unable to leave his home.
Fred teaches me about having a thankful heart despite limitations. He appreciates the smallest things, like sunsets, helpful family and quiet moments with God. He had experienced a lifetime of witnessing God’s goodness.
The author of Psalm 116, who experienced difficulties, is believed to have been suffering from sickness, as he talked of being entangled in the cords of death. Despite this, he expresses gratitude to the Lord.
During low moments, recognizing God as the source of all good gifts in our lives and learning to give thanks is crucial.
🙏 What can we give the Lord in return for everything that He has done for us? We will present to Him the offering of thanksgiving (Psalms 116:12–17).
