JONAH 4
Frank was furious when a man who had wronged his family joined the church and was welcomed with open arms. “How can God forgive him so easily?” he complained. He avoided the man, allowing anger to grow in his heart.
But during prayer, God revealed his own pride and reminded him of the grace he himself had received. Slowly, his heart softened. “If God could forgive me,” he said, “then I must learn to forgive others.”
Like Jonah, who was angry when God showed mercy to Nineveh, he had to learn compassion.
God’s heart is far greater than our own. He sometimes uses what offends us to transform us through His love.
