ISAIAH 40:6–11
I was in the waiting room of the hospital. I brought my friend for his eye surgery. As I prayed for him, I found solace in Isaiah 40, a familiar passage in the Bible, as I prayed for his well-being and the comfort the surgery would bring.
Isaiah 40 tells us that the Lord gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart (v. 11), tending His flock like a shepherd. I realised at that same time that the Lord was holding us, guiding us, and taking care of us, and my fears left me.
The Lord promised His people through prophet Isaiah that He would be their shepherd, guiding them and providing comfort. We can experience His gentle tending by sharing our anxious thoughts and seeking His love and peace, as He holds us close to His heart.
🙏Lord Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd who gives His life in order to protect His flock. We are deeply grateful for the blessing of Your selfless love and the deep peace.
