THE GAME OF THANKS

COLOSSIANS 3:12–17

Last year, my students engaged in a game where they had to name something they were thankful for without repeating someone else’s words.

Students who might complain about issues like tests, deadlines, and rules chose to be thankful and likely felt better after the game than if they had chosen to complain. This choice may have contributed to their overall well-being.

Even though we may always find something to be unhappy about, there are always blessings to be grateful for if we look closely enough. In his epistle from prison, Colossians 3:15, Paul stresses the significance of showing gratitude for blessings. He exhorts readers to never stop giving thanks to God, the Father.

Today, let us choose to exhibit an attitude of gratitude.
