‎THE CONVERSION OF JOHN NEWTON

‎ACTS 9:13–16

‎John Newton, once a hard-hearted slave ship captain, was so transformed by God’s grace that he later wrote Amazing Grace. His last recorded words before his death were this: “My memory is nearly gone, but I remember two things: that I am a great sinner and that Christ is a great Saviour.” His story reminds us that no past is beyond God’s reach.

‎In Acts 9:13–16, Ananias hesitated to meet Saul, knowing his violent history. Yet God saw not the persecutor but Paul—His chosen instrument who would carry Christ’s name to nations and rulers. Scripture reveals God’s power to rewrite any story.

‎Today, we often feel trapped by past mistakes or doubt others can change. But God still reshapes lives, calling us to trust His work and extend grace to those He is remaking.

🙏‎May the Lord help you to trust His transforming power and accept those He has transformed. Amen.
