2 PETER 3:1-13
When I dropped my friend off one day at a nearby bus terminal, I observed the conductor looking around for stragglers. From the parking lot, a woman with wet hair dashed into the bus. A man in a dark suit then made his way to the platform and boarded. While a few more late passengers hurried to the stand and boarded at the last second, the conductor patiently waited.
God waits patiently for people to come to know Him, just as the bus conductor was kind to those getting on. However, when Jesus returns, the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat (2 Peter 3:10). When this occurs, or when our bodies physically pass away, it will be too late to build a relationship with God.
The time for anyone to choose the Lord is now.
🎶: “Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals he’s waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.”
