THE BLESSING BOWL

ROMANS 1:1–10; PHILIPPIANS 1:3

While working on my computer, I heard the sound of a new email. Despite trying to avoid distractions, the subject line “You are a blessing” intrigued me.

A faraway friend sent me a card and said she was praying for my family. She displays the card in her “Blessing Bowl” and prays for us each week. She expressed gratitude for our efforts to share God’s love, citing Philippians 1:3.

Paul often expressed gratitude to those who worked with him, as seen in his letters. In Romans 1:8, he thanked God for others’ faith, which was known throughout the world.

Paul thanked his co-labourers by praying for them. Nowadays, people like my friend use blessing bowls to bring joy. How can we show gratitude to those who work with us in God’s mission today?

🙏Father, may your servants intentionally bless and be a blessing to those who serve you with them.
