PSALM 73:21–28; PHILIPPIANS 4:12
As a boy, my siblings and I would argue about the size of a meat my mom served us.
Focussing on others’ possessions can lead to jealousy, but God’s Word emphasises the importance of contentment and focussing on God. The psalmist, inspired by the Holy Spirit, promises to obey God’s words and seek His face with all his heart (Psalm 119:57–58).
Our Creator is the best portion we have, as nothing can compare to Him and nothing can take Him away from us. Human desire is a vast emptiness, but we are genuinely happy and at peace when God is our source of joy.
🙏Thank You, loving Lord, that nothing and no one can satisfy all of our necessities the way You can. You are always and foreverours, and we are Yours.
