HEBREWS 12:2
In the Southern Hemisphere, the Southern Cross is the most well-known and well-represented star group. Because of its brightness and near closeness to one another, the group’s characteristic shape is easily identified. Mariners and navigators have relied on it for direction and navigation through the seas since the 15th century. It may be viewed from practically anywhere in Australia all year. In the northern hemisphere, the constellation is not visible.
The cross of Christ, according to the Bible, is much more glorious. We see the Creator’s craftsmanship when we gaze at the sky, but when we look at the cross, we see the Creator dying for His creation. Hebrews 12:2 exhorts us to look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, ignoring the shame, and sat down at God’s right hand.
The marvel of Calvary’s cross is that our Saviour died for us while we were still in our sins (Romans 5:8). Those who put their faith in Christ have been reconciled to God, and He is now guiding them through life.
The greatest of all wonders is Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, which provides the only safe passage into eternity.
