MATTHEW 27:1-10
The Wednesday before Easter is known as Spy Wednesday – a day we remember Judas’ betrayal of Jesus.
How did Judas feel as he received thirty pieces of silver, betraying Jesus for money? Did he remember how Jesus’ loving hands touched his life?
The silver became a reminder of what Judas had done to Jesus rather than a reward. He knew he had sinned by betraying innocent blood, as the clanging coins sounded a dirge of condemnation with each stride (Matthew 27:4).
Making choices that betray Jesus leads to sorrow and regret.
When you have to choose between money or anything else in the future, keep in mind Judas’ condemning coins and do not betray your friend, brother, leader, or the Lord Jesus.
🙏 I pray that Jesus will mean all the world to you so that you will never betray Him. Amen.
