REVELATION 21:1-7
James Oglethorpe, a British general and Parliamentary member, had a vision for a great city. As the settler of Georgia, he designed Savannah, a city with a series of squares with green spaces, designated areas for churches and shops, and housing. Today, Savannah is a beautiful, well-organised city, considered a jewel of the American South.
In Revelation 21, John sees a vision of a new Jerusalem. He describes the eternal home as God’s dwelling place among the people, where He will wipe every tear from their eyes and there will be no more death. This dwelling place is notable for God’s presence.
Death will cease! Additionally, there will not be any more mourning, crying, or pain. The magnificent, comforting presence of the Creator of the universe will take the place of all our grief. For everyone who comes to Jesus seeking forgiveness, this is a place that Jesus is preparing.
