PSALM 33:10-15
If your life is like mine, it is pretty well planned. I actually have a calendar that reminds me of upcoming appointments, meetings and other events. Sometimes, interruptions drastically change my day; and while they can be frustrating, they can also be productive.
Some of the great advances in God’s plans have come about through the disruption of the plans of men. Take Joseph and Mary, for example – an angel interrupted their lives by announcing that they would have a son named Jesus. Since Mary was a virgin and Joseph had never had sex with her, the news was certainly shocking and deeply disturbing. In fact, it put a question mark on their godliness. What of Saul, the Jewish fanatic who persecuted the early Christians? He was on his way to Damascus to arrest more disciples when Jesus blinded him. This life-changing disorder had a huge impact on the future of Christianity.
The psalmist reminds us that the Lord can annul people’s plans (Psalm 33:10). But too often, we respond to interruptions in our orderly lives with attitudes such as frustration, irritation, fear and doubt. God’s surprises are full of possibilities. We need to welcome them as a new “to-do list” from Him.
Now, look for God’s goal in your next interruption!
🙏Lord, I need Your eyes to help me see that when the next interruption comes, it can be my next opportunity.
